A lot has changed within Redux with the jump from v1.0 to v2.0, and features have been announced, renounced and at times, the direction/focus of the mod has certainly seemed unclear.
I chose the name Redux in homage to the mod for Shadow of Chernobyl that first introduced me to the world of game-realism and high difficulty, and when I first decided to create this mod for Call of Pripyat, I firmly intended to basically just recreate the Redux feeling for CoP.
I hope that I managed to achieve this with CoP: Redux v1.0 – I know it wasn’t perfect (cough, stashes/upgrades, cough), but I did the best I could at the time, and from what people have told me, it’s fun for them. I hope that’s true.
Anyway, my point is that the mod has evolved over the years to the level where I feel that the Redux name no longer feels right to use, nor accurately describes it.
Thus, I’ve been thinking over the last few weeks of re-naming the mod to more correctly illustrate it.
So far, the names have not been too forthcoming in my mind, and we’re discussing within the team on possibilities – BUT – we want your input!
Redux 2.0 is about difficulty, authenticity, realism and deeper gameplay. About making you consider every shot you fire, every life you take, and every sip of contaminated water you drink. Life in the Zone will not be easy, and we want to make that clear. It will, however, be extremely interesting and filled with countless adventures.
What do you think?
Can you name us?
