Redux Dev Log 01/07/2013

The last few days have been spent mainly wrestling with errors and crashes, unfortunately.

STALKER turns out to throw a hissy-fit if you leave an empty XML entry in a text file, crashing on launch and complaining about some totally irrelevant error that has nothing to do with the actual problem.

Because of this, I had to go through every file I’d changed since the last SVN update one by one and exclude them as the reason for the crash, and it took hours. Anyway, I eventually resolved it and learned my lesson in that regard.

Other than that, we currently have a crash when trying to run a compiled version of Zaton and Jupiter in unison (allowing you to transition between them in game), but each level works fine individually. I have no idea what’s causing it.


In better news, Private Lem is now behaving himself as I figured out what was causing the problems of his movement, so that was very satisfying!


Finally, one of our modellers, DeflectionDrive, has basically finished an entire building’s interiors, in Zaton. Can you guess the building?
